Hello everyone! I am so sorry that I have been ignoring my blog but unfortunately, my first passion in life has had me busy. I am not, by any means, a trained storm chaser but I have loved weather since I was young. I have always ran towards storms when others would run in the opposite direction. My mom was the first person that introduced me to storm chasing even though she was never trained either. She was so passionate about the outdoors and could tell when a storm was coming without looking at a radar. She is the one who put a fire under me when it came to weather.
My first experience with a tornado was in 1990, when I was only 12. I was not close to the Plainfield, IL tornado but I had friends that was hurt by it and that was when I decided I would learn anything and everything about weather.
When I reached the age of 25, I was constantly watching the weather and chasing storms near me here in Illinois. I'm not like most people who is looking for the rush of the storm and getting that perfect shot or video to make money. I am more into the reasoning behind severe weather and keeping not only my family and I safe but everyone around me.
I hope this gives you an inside look on what drives me when it comes to severe weather. I also wanted to introduce an video that I took on July 13, 2016 which I did in my home just to show everyone how dangerous storms can be!
*VIDEO HAS EXPLICIT LANGUAGE! IT IS TOWARDS THE END SO BE PREPARED! PLEASE PARDON THE LANGUAGE! IT CAUGHT ME AND MY FAMILY BY SURPRISE!*
