I have a 6 year old Chihuahua that hates any noises or even seeing people walking down the street. What really drives me crazy is when the mailman, FedEx, or any delivery service comes to my door and he goes crazy even after they leave. I have tried many techniques: water bottle, the whistle, the treats, the commands, and nothing will work with him.
I decided to try Cujo Control Dog Training Collar for my dog to see if it would work. After reading that it is a safe humane technique of dog training, I decided to try it out even though I was nervous about shocking a tiny chihuahua. I decided to try it on myself first to see how it felt. When I did the first shock setting, there was a shock to my arm and it's definitely enough to get your attention but nothing that would really hurt you or your dog.
I decided to put the collar on my dog since I knew I was receiving a package later that day. When FedEx showed up to my door and knocked, I had the controller in my hand. As soon as my dog heard the knock and started to barked, I told him to be quiet which that didn't work. I then pressed the button to give him the buzz/vibration (not shock) option to give him a warning and to my surprise, that actually was enough to stop him. He looked at me with a confused look and then he barked some more but not as crazy and I gave him another warning buzz. I was so happy to see that it really worked!
When the mailman came to the door this morning and my dog started to bark a little, I gave him a buzz from the kitchen. But it seemed like it didn't faze him so then when he really started going crazy, I gave him a shock and it stopped him in his tracks with no harm. He just gave me that confused look again but he stopped barking. Later in the day, he was looking out the window and was getting ready to bark but he looked at me and decided not to bark so I would say this works.
This is awonderful product for any size dog and l love the look of it. It is not too difficult to figure out how to use but I did notice the collar fits my dog well but the excess strap hanging is way too long and needs to be cut. This is a great product and I really do recommend this for anyone dealing with a dog that doesn't like to listen and barks too much.
